Used in the manufacture of certain solvents, pesticides, surfactants, soaps and detergents. It is a solvent as well as an anti-oxidant that is also used in the manufacture of dyes, pharmaceuticals, textile chemicals, rubber manufacturing chemicals and leather tanning.
It is a fuel additive and acts as a stabiliser in natural rubber latex and certain types of resins.
